Over 40 family, friends, parents and staff volunteered for the WOLVERINES first community service project. We asked and you responded!! On April 9, our volunteers dedicated 6 hours to serve as jurors in a mock trial at the DeKalb County Courthouse. The volunteers had an opportunity to interact with judges and first - third year law students from Emory University School of Law. The volunteers intently listened, observed and took notes as the defense and prosecution presented their case. After a tough deliberation session from jurors, the verdict was in. Guilty or Not Guilty. It was a great opportunity to witness future lawyers at work!!
The South DeKalb Rotary Club, in conjunction with interim DeKalb Tax Commissioner Irvin Johnson and DeKalb Clerk of Court Debra DeBerry requested support from the community to collect and send pencils to children in Dakar ad the village of Tatene in Sengal, West Africa. As expected, our parents and coaches collected over 350 pencils!! THANK YOU PARENTS AND COACHES FOR YOUR TIRELESS SUPPORT OF THE TEAM!!
